Directed Financial Assistance
who we are
Founding member:
DFA (Directed Financial Assistance)
was founded by Marvin (Yaacov) Stenge.
Marvin moved to Jerusalem in 2011 with his wife Allegra; all of their children and grandchildren live in Israel as well.
Marvin served on the Board of Directors of AACI (Association of Canadians and Americans in Israel) for six years in various capacities before becoming
Chairman of the Board in July 2023.

During his time on the Board Marvin initiated a program which solicited funds from AACI’s
members and friends and were distributed to North American immigrants to Israel who suffered
financially from the restrictions caused by the Coronavirus.
During yet another round of fighting in Azza in May of 2023 Marvin raised over NIS 40,000 in a matter of a few hours in order to send 20 families with children with special needs from Ashkelon to a hotel in Herzliah for Shabbat to escape the constant rocket barrages from Azza.
As Chairman of the Board during the current war Marvin led a campaign to fund, build, and manage a Youth Center at Israel’s Dead Sea Resort to where over 10,000 people (including over 2,500 youth) from Sderot and Kibbutzim in the Azza Envelope were evacuated.
In addition, Marvin spearheaded a campaign to provide 150 tablets to children from Sderot with learning difficulties including those who suffered trauma as a result of years of missile and rocket attacks.
A further initiative of Marvin’s through AACI, was the donation of all of the equipment for a computer room in the Hadar School for Children with Learning Disabilities.
Marvin raised funds for a Bar-Mitzvah celebration for children from a school in Kiryat Shmona who had been evacuated to over eighteen locations throughout Israel and who came together for an amazing event in Jerusalem.
All in all, over NIS 500,000 was raised for the above activities.
As a result of the above efforts Marvin decided to establish DFA (Directed Financial Assistance) in order to continue to assist those most in need in the two areas in Israel most affected by the Swords of Iron War.
